Groovy Giveaway #1: Tom Goss's new CD, Lost Songs and Underdogs

This week I'm featuring two Groovy Giveaways (click here to win a DVD of the film, Going Down in LA-LA Land). I'm giving away a CD of Tom Goss's new album, Lost Songs and Underdogs. And here to tell you all about it is the talented singer/songwriter himself:

What was your inspiration for Lost Songs and Underdogs?
This album is made up of songs that I've written over the past five years or so. Dark, sad, deep and intimate, these songs simply didn't fit the projects that came before it - they needed a new treatment, a different approach and a record all their own. It's a very heavy album so there is a lot of heavy inspirations - divorce, infidelity, suicide and addiction, just to name a few.

I'm looking forward to releasing it. My heart and soul are on this in a way unlike anything I have done. It's stark, honest and real. Every note, every instrument, every piece of the record was me. I hope that when people get this album in their hands they take the time to touch it, feel it, interact with it and let it move them. My friend Jared and I spent a lot of time designing and packaging it - there is a 12-panel insert and tons of stories and lyrics. I'm extremely proud of it.

Are there any new cities or venues on your upcoming tour that you're especially looking forward to?
Yes, of course! I'm excited about visiting Miami, Tacoma and hopefully some new cities in the South for the first time. Also, I haven't been to Omaha in years so I'm excited to be back. I miss my friends in all the cities I visit. I'm glad to be seeing everyone soon.
