Top 10 Tuesday of Groovy Tunes: Those Fine Young Cannibals "Drive Me Crazy"

Each week I feature 10 groovy tunes that reached the Top 10 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart during the last 50+ years. You can vote for your three favorites, and the five with the most votes move on to the following week when five new songs will be added to the list.

Last week ABBA claimed the top spot for the first time with their 1977 hit, "Dancing Queen", which received 39 votes out of the 214 cast. And this week they will be challenged by the 5th Dimension, David Soul and Fine Young Cannibals.

1) "Dancing Queen"/ABBA (Week 2) - #6 the week of April 16, 1977

2) "Downtown"/Petula Clark (LW #3, W13) - 15 weeks on Billboard's Hot 100 chart in 1964-65

3) "I Will Survive"/Gloria Gaynor (LW #5, W6) - #2 the week of April 14, 1979

4) "Lady Marmalade"/Labelle (LW #4, W3) - #7 the week of April 12, 1975

5) "Believe"/Cher (LW #2, W4) - #2 the week of April 10, 1999

6) "Somethin' Stupid"/Nancy & Frank Sinatra (DEBUT) - #1 the week of April 15, 1967

7) "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In"/The 5th Dimension (DEBUT) - #1 the week of April 12, 1969

What does it say about me when I constantly keep coming back to the 1960's & 1970's for my selections? I just LOVE ABBA (they may even tie with Karen & Richard for my affection). And then there's Miss. Clark and the Sinatras. Just wonderful! =)
