Web Series Worth Watching: Old Dogs return with New Tricks on January 30

Before we get to this week's web series, I want to give a shout-out to We Love Soaps' 4th Annual Indie Soap Awards, which will be presented to the best web series of 2012 on February 19 at NYC's New World Stages. Many of my favorite series were nominated, including Anacostia, DeVanity, Empire, Fumbling thru the Pieces, Hunting Season, Husbands, Hustling, The Outs, PRETTY, Ragged Isle, Thurston and Where the Bears Are (click here for a complete list of nominees).

Web Series of the Week: Old Dogs & New Tricks
This groovy gay series returns for a second season on Wednesday, January 30, with some very special guest stars, including Greg Louganis, Ian Buchanan (General Hospital, Days of our Lives), Thom Bierdz (The Young and the Restless), Michael Kearns and Terri Garber (Dynasty). The handsome Doug Spearman also joins the cast as Ross' workaholic spouse Neal, while the fabulous Bruce Hart returns as Nathan's nemesis Nelson Van Eddy. Meanwhile, Nathan has to deal with the aftermath of his office tryst with his sexy young client Damian. Below you can check out the Season 2 Premiere Trailer.

Below you can watch the official trailer of this intriguing new series, which "is not going to be pretty" or PRETTY (the first series from creator Steve Silverman). It stars Crystal Chappell (Days of our Lives, Guiding Light) and Denise Alexander (General Hospital) - and I'm looking forward to its February premiere! For more information, go to You can also follow the series on Facebook.

Outside The Box
Big Happy Pants! This hilarious musical comedy series returns with a new episode featuring actor John Sloman (Mad Men), who is asked to star in a career-defining role in a new musical. For more OTB, visit You can also become a fan of the series on Facebook.

Steve Hayes: Tired Old Queen at the Movies
The fabulous film critic celebrates the holidays with reviews of Christmas in Connecticut (1945) starring Barbara Stanwyck and my favorite New Year's Eve disaster flick, Irwin Allen's The Poseidon Adventure with Gene Hackman, Shelley Winters, Stella Stevens, Carol Lynley and Pamela Sue Martin.
