Blërg! My 10 Favorite 30 Rock Episodes

So I watched the final episode of 30 Rock last night (on DVR). It was, of course, filled with its usual quirky rapid-fire humor - I especially enjoyed Jenna's attempt to steal a Tony from Tony Award-winning actress Alice Ripley (Next to Normal, Side Show) - and it ended with a homage to the finale of the wonderful 1982-88 NBC drama, St. Elsewhere. 30 Rock was truly an original show - and one of the funniest sitcoms of the last decade. And I'm going to miss Liz Lemon and her band of merry TGS misfits.

Now here are my 10 favorite episodes out of the 138 that were produced during 30 Rock's seven seasons (in chronological order):

1) "The Rural Juror" (Episode 10, Season 1 - January 11, 2007)
The episode focuses on the release of Jenna's new film, The Rural Juror, about a Southern-born lawyer named Constance Justice. Rachel Dratch guest stars as Barbara Walters.

2) "Rosemary's Baby" (Episode 25, Season 2 - October 25, 2007)
Liz meets her childhood idol, comedy writer Rosemary Howard (Carrie Fisher), while Jack does some role-playing during Tracy's therapy session.

3) "MILF Island" (Episode 32, Season 2 - April 10, 2008)
The episode revolves around the season finale of Jack's summer reality show hit, MILF Island, about 25 Super-Hot Moms, 50 eighth grade boys and no rules.

4) "Sandwich Day" (Episode 35, Season 2 - May 1, 2008)
Liz is furious when her sandwich is stolen on TGS's Annual Sandwich Day.

5) "St. Valentine's Day" (Episode 47, Season 3 - February 12, 2009)
Liz and her neighbor, Dr. Drew Baird (guest star Jon Hamm), have their first official date on Valentine's Day.

6) "The Funcooker" (Episode 50, Season 3 - March 12, 2009)
Jack tries to find a name for a pocket microwave oven, and Kenneth suggests "The Funcooker" (which is also Tracy's name for his exposed buttocks). Meanwhile, Liz dresses up as Princess Leia to get out of jury duty.

7) "The Moms" (Episode 78, Season 4 - May 6, 2010)
TGS celebrates Mother's Day by having the mothers of its cast and staff visit and participate in the holiday episode. Guest stars include Anita Gillette as Liz's mother, Jan Hooks as Jenna's mother, Patti LuPone as Frank's mother, and Elaine Stritch as Jack's mother.

8) "Queen of Jordan" (Episode 97, Season 5 - March 17, 2011)
This episode aired as an episode of Queen of Jordan, the fictional reality series of Tracy's wife Angie (played by The View's Sherri Shepherd).

9) "Live from Studio 6H" (Episode 122, Season 6 - April 26, 2012)
The series' second live episode featuring guest stars Jon Hamm, Jimmy Fallon, Amy Poehler and Paul McCartney.

10) "Queen of Jordan 2: Mystery of the Phantom Pooper" (Episode 123, Season 6 - May 3, 2012)
The launch of Angie Jordan's new clothing line brings her reality series, Queen of Jordan, back to TGS.

And, finally, here is a recent Ask Tina video on, in which Ms. Fey talks about the end of 30 Rock.
