Top 10 Tuesday of Groovy Tunes: Shirley Bassey loves only "Goldfinger"

Each week I feature 10 groovy tunes that have appeared on Billboard's Hot 100 chart during the last 50+ years. You can vote for your three favorites, and the five with the most votes move on to the following week when five new songs will be added to the list.

Last week Cher claimed the top spot with "Dark Lady", which received 54 votes out of the 371 cast. And this week she will be challenged by Peaches & Herb, The Mamas & the Papas and Shirley Bassey.

1) "Dark Lady"/Cher (Week 2) - #7 the week of April 6, 1974

2) "Here Comes the Rain Again"/Eurythmics (W2) - #4 the week of April 7, 1984

3) "Girls Just Want to Have Fun"/Cyndi Lauper (LW #4, W4) - #9 the week of April 7, 1984

4) "For All We Know"/Carpenters (LW #2, W3) - #3 the week of April 3, 1971

5) "Crazy"/Patsy Cline (LW #1, W16) - 21 weeks on Billboard's Hot 100 chart in 1961-62

6) "The Shoop Shoop Song (It's in His Kiss)"/Betty Everett (DEBUT) - #8 the week of April 4, 1964

7) "Goldfinger"/Shirley Bassey (DEBUT) - #8 the week of April 3, 1965

8) "Dedicated to the One I Love"/The Mamas & the Papas (DEBUT) - #2 the week of April 8, 1967

This week, the obvious choices were Miss. Cline and Karen & Richard. The tough choice finally came down to The Mamas & the Papas.
