Top 10 Tuesday of Groovy Music #2

Each week I feature 10 groovy albums that have appeared on the Billboard 200 (aka Top LPs) chart during the last 50+ years. You can vote for your three favorites, and the five with the most votes move on to the following week when five new albums will be added to the list.

Last week Carole King claimed the top spot with her 1971 album, Tapestry, which received 27 votes out of the 144 cast. And this week she will be challenged by Diana Ross, Bobbie Gentry and Whitney Houston.

1) Tapestry/Carole King (W2) - #1 the week of September 25, 1971

2) Judy at Carnegie Hall/Judy Garland (W2) - #1 the week on September 24, 1961

3) Rumours/Fleetwood Mac (W2) - #1 the week of September 24, 1977

4) Purple Rain soundtrack/Prince and The Revolution (W2) - #1 the week of September 29, 1984

5) A Hard Day's Night soundtrack/The Beatles (W2) - #1 the week of September 26, 1964

6) The Sound of Music soundtrack (DEBUT) - #3 the week of September 25, 1965

7) Ode to Billie Joe/Bobbie Gentry (DEBUT) - #2 the week of September 30, 1967

8) Grease soundtrack (DEBUT) - #1 the week of September 30, 1978

9) Diana/Diana Ross (DEBUT) - #3 the week of September 27, 1980

10) Whitney/Whitney Houston (DEBUT) - #3 the week of September 26, 1987

This was an easy week (for me)! Judy and The Beatles and The Sound of Music -- my very favourite show/movie of all time! WOO HOO!!

Good music this week which means hard choices! Prince is the only artist that I'm indifferent to, so after much wavering back and forth I went with Judy, Julie plus the Von Trappe gang and Fleetwood Mac.
