Other credits include the 2003-05 HBO series, Carnivàle, and the films, Cool Hand Luke (1967), Five Easy Pieces (1970), On the Nickel (1980, which he also wrote and directed), The Bodyguard (1992), Cliffhanger (1993) and Sunshine State (2002).

I love "the Waltons!" Michael Learned, Ellen Corby, Will Geer, Richard Thomas and Waite and the rest of the cast made this a well watched series of rural America during the Great Depression.

RIP, Mr. Waite!
