Show Tune Showdown #61: The Final Round

And now we only have two show tunes left singing - and they are both worthy contenders in my opinion. You have until midnight on Wednesday (February 26) to vote in this final round.

Company's "The Ladies Who Lunch" (Elaine Stritch sings her signature song during the 1998 concert, My Favorite Broadway: The Leading Ladies, at Carnegie Hall)

vs.

Funny Girl's "Don't Rain on My Parade" (Barbra Streisand performs on her TV special, Funny Girl to Funny Lady, on March 9, 1975)

a personal anecdote - i know you live in Chicago & i believe that you are of an 'age' where you would remember 'the bushes' bar on Halsted. i tended bar there in the late 80's & early 90's. the staff had a theme song no one really knew about - "The Ladies Who Lunch". we would go to El Jardin for lunch that lasted until we had to go to work. needless to say Pepe & Madre would get us boxed!!!

it could be the only song i can vote for. thanks, mike/

Hey, Mike, I didn't start going to any Halsted Street bars until 1991 - and I don't remember The Bushes (I was more of a Sidetrack/Roscoe's guy). However, I am very familiar with El Jardin. Thanks for voting!
