Web Series Worth Watching: The Series Finale of DeVanity

Web Series of the Week: DeVanity
After four seasons of deliciously twisted drama, this outrageous soap opera about the wealthy DeVanity family and their jewelry empire has sadly come to an end. I must thank creator Michael Caruso for creating such an entertaining series that took me back to the glory days of the original Dynasty and Dallas - and it certainly didn't hurt to feature such groovy guest stars as Gordon Thomson, Charlene Tilton, Maxwell Caulfield, Sheree J. Wilson and Steve Kanaly. DeVanity has always been fun to watch, and I will miss it. However, the surprise ending of the finale makes it clear that life will go on for most of the characters, so perhaps Jason DeVanity will someday return just like J.R. Ewing.  But for now we are just left wanting more.

Other web series worth watching this week are:

Ave 43
In the latest episode of this deliciously twisted soap opera, Debbie tries to unite her and Mark's families and receives a disturbing call from Kevin. If you haven't watched Ave 43 before, I highly recommend that you begin with Episode 1 on its YouTube channel. You can also become a fan of the series on Facebook.

The Boys Who Brunch
In the latest episode of this gay web series, Mason and his friends go to an HIV Testing Event hosted by the fabulous drag queen, Paige Turner. To catch up on Season 1, go to www.theboyswhobrunch.com. You can also become a fan of the series on Facebook and Twitter.

Not Looking
In the latest episode of this hilarious gay web series, a distraught Colby sings "Let It Go" after he breaks up with Rodrigo (played by Jai Rodriguez). For more Not Looking, click here. You can also follow the series on Twitter.

Submissions Only
The third season of this delightful comedy continues as Gail finds a new reader (played by a scene-stealing Will Swenson), guest star Kelli O'Hara takes a fall, and Penny goes to lunch with Serena. Other guest stars include Hunter Foster and Harriet Harris, and Marilyn Sokol joins the cast as actress Agnes Vetrulli. For more Submissions Only, go to www.submissionsonly.com or BroadwayWorld.com.
