Remembering Bob Hoskins 1942 - 2014

Actor Bob Hoskins, who died Tuesday at age 71, received an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe Award for his performance in the 1986 noir drama, Mona Lisa. He was also nominated for a Golden Globe for Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) and Mrs Henderson Presents (2005). Other film credits include The Long Good Friday (1980), The Cotton Club (1984), Brazil (1985), Sweet Liberty (1986), Mermaids (1990), Hook (1991), Nixon (1995), Cousin Bette (1998), Beyond the Sea (2004) and Hollywoodland (2006).

Below are some videos I've selected to celebrate Mr. Hoskins' life and career.

Pennies from Heaven (a 1978 BBC musical drama)

Mona Lisa (1986)

Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988)

Mermaids (1990) with Cher and Winona Ryder

Mrs Henderson Presents (2005) with Judi Dench

Nice tribute. He was a fine actor with a strange allure for someone with his looks. He was an average looking Joe but because of a certain something in his character, an infectious glint of humor in his eyes, that didn't make it seem strange that Cher or other leading ladies would be attracted to him.
