Web Series Worth Watching: Allison Janney in Break a Hip

Web Series of the Week: Break a Hip
This new comedy series by Cameron Watson is about an aspiring young actor in Hollywood named Wincy who is hired - in the first episode - to run errands (and other stuff) for Biz, a lonely older actress. So far I'm enjoying the series, especially the amusing Harold and Maude chemistry between Britt Hennemuth as Wincy and the wonderful Christina Pickles as Biz (I loved her as Nurse Helen Rosenthal on St. Elsewhere). And in Episode 3, the fabulous Allison Janney steals the show as Niblett, Biz's banjo-strumming landlord who doesn't like big words. Her hilarious hoot of a character will be returning for two more episodes this season, and other groovy guest stars will include Peri Gilpin (Frasier) and the Academy Award-winning Octavia Spencer (The Help).

PLEASE NOTE: The next Web Series Worth Watching will be on Sunday, July 26.

Other web series worth watching this week are:

He's With Me
Jason Cicci's comedy series about the friendship between a gay man and a straight man returns for a second season, and the story picks up moments after the Season 1 finale when Ted's ex-girlfriend showed up unexpectedly and Benny confessed his love for Martin. I look forward to another great season! To catch up on Season 1, go to www.heswithme.tv or subscribe to HWM's YouTube channel. You can also follow the series on Facebook and Twitter.

Steam Room Stories
Check out "50 Shades of Gay", the latest episode of this comedy series featuring Moronai Kanekoa, Adam Bucci and Ty James. For more Steam Room Stories, go to www.SteamRoomStories.com. You can also follow the series on Facebook and Twitter.

Steve Hayes: Tired Old Queen at the Movies
The fabulous film critic reviews Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific (1958) starring Mitzi Gaynor, Rosanno Brazzi, John Kerr, Ray Walston and Juanita Hall. For more TOQ, subscribe to his YouTube channel. You can also follow Steve on Facebook and Twitter.
