Web Series Worth Watching: BJ Gruber & Jim Newman in Daddyhunt: The Serial

Before we get to this week's web series, I want to give a shout-out to some of my favorite shows that recently received nominations from the 7th Annual Indie Series Awards - Anacostia, The Bay, Capitol Hill, Club 5150, EastSiders, He's With Me, Hunting Season, These People and Winterthorne. The awards will take place on April 6 at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood with hosts Eric Martsolf and Jen Lilley (Days of our Lives). Click here for a complete list of nominees.

Web Series of the Week: Daddyhunt: The Serial
The popular online gay community has come up with a groovy way to promote its new app - a serialized web series about a hunky young man (played by BJ Gruber) who moves into a new apartment and meets his hot daddy neighbor (played by Jim Newman). Gruber and Newman have a nice chemistry - and it's always great to see Mr. Newman, who has appeared on Broadway (Steel Pier, Minnelli on Minnelli, Hands on a Hardbody) and has been the Cowboy in the Village People since 2013. I enjoyed Daddyhunt: The Serial, and hopefully we'll be seeing more episodes in the future.

You can follow Daddyhunt: The Serial at and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

You can follow BJ Gruber at and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

You can follow Jim Newman on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

PLEASE NOTE: The next Web Series Worth Watching will be on Sunday, February 21.

Steam Room Stories
In the latest episode, Ray Tezanos and Josh Wise discuss how to please a woman. For more steamy sketch comedy, go to And you can follow the series on Facebook and Twitter.
