Check out the trailer for An Early Clue to the New Direction: Queer Cinema Before Stonewall, which runs April 22 to May 1 at the Film Society of Lincoln Center. Films include Alfred Hitchcock's Rope (1948) with James Stewart and Farley Granger, Tea and Sympathy (1956) with Deborah Kerr, Who Killed Teddy Bear? (1965) with Sal Mineo, Juliet Prowse and Elaine Stritch, and Reflections in a Golden Eye (1967) with Marlon Brando and Elizabeth Taylor (click here for more information).

4) Groovy Birthday Gal #1: Patti LuPone
To celebrate Patti's upcoming 67th birthday on April 21, below you can watch her January 2006 interview on Women in Theatre with Linda Winer (Newsday's theatre critic), an April 2011 interview on Show People with Paul Wontorek, and a 2014 appearance on Seth Rudetsky's SiriusXM radio show, Seth Speaks (click here for my 2014 post in honor of Patti's 65th birthday).

5) Groovy Birthday Gal #2: Elizabeth Montgomery
The Bewitched actress, who sadly left us in 1995, would have celebrated her 83rd birthday today. Below you can watch her on The Mike Douglas Show on November 6, 1966 (with co-host Cesar Romero), and as the host of ABC's The Hollywood Palace on October 1, 1966, with Paul Lynde and Vic Damone.

6) Groovy Birthday Gal #3: Hayley Mills
To celebrate Hayley's upcoming 70th birthday on April 18, below you can watch her as the Mystery Guest on What's My Line? on November 28, 1965, and as a guest on The Pat Sajak Show on March 9, 1989.

7) Groovy Birthday Guy: Tim Curry
To celebrate Tim's upcoming 70th birthday on April 19, below you can watch him in some rare on-set footage of the filming of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in the fall of 1974.  I've also included an August 1975 interview with the actor.

And here is some interesting trivia: Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand's 1978 hit, "You Don't Bring Me Flowers", was originally written to be the show's theme song, but it was replaced with another song by the time the series aired.

10) Groovy TV Flashback #3: Working Girl
Based on the 1988 Melanie Griffith film, the NBC sitcom debuted on April 16, 1990, and ran for eight episodes with a 25-year-old Sandra Bullock playing the role of Tess McGill.
