Win a pair of tickets to the Chicago premiere of Bootycandy
This week I'm giving away a pair of tickets to the Chicago premiere of Bootycandy, the “fearlessly unpredictable” (Los Angeles Times) semi-autobiographical play written and directed by Robert O'Hara. As a young, precocious boy, Sutter (played by Chicago actor Travis Turner) has to quickly learn what it means to be gay and black and as he grows up, he must also learn that no one person will be able to tell him the meaning of love, life, sex or race — he’ll have to define those for himself.
To win a voucher redeemable for a pair of tickets to any Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Sunday performance February 2 through March 31 [subject to availability], please email your name to firstname.lastname@example.org. Entries close at midnight on Thursday, January 19 (CST).
Previews for Bootycandy begin January 25 at Windy City Playhouse (3014 W. Irving Park Road) and the production runs through April 15. Tickets can be purchased at the Windy City Playhouse Box Office online or by calling (773) 891-8985. Performances run Wednesday (7:30pm), Thursday (7:30pm), Friday (8pm), Saturday (2pm and 8pm) and Sunday (3pm).
