Remembering Al Jarreau 1940 - 2017



Singer Al Jarreau, who died Sunday at age 76, received seven Grammy Awards during his career, including one for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for his most popular album, 1981's Breakin' Away. And in 1996, he played the Teen Angel in the Broadway revival of Grease.

"Take Five" from his 1977 live album, Look to the Rainbow, which won a Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album.



"We're in This Love Together" from his 1981 album, Breakin' Away, spent 24 weeks on the pop charts, reaching #15 on the Billboard Hot 100.

"Boogie Down" and "Mornin'" from his 1983 album, Jarreau, which was his third consecutive #1 album on the Billboard Jazz charts.




"After All" from his 1984 album, High Crime



"Moonlighting", the theme song from the 1985-89 ABC series, reached #23 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1987. It received two Grammy Award nominations for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance and Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or Television.
