The Groovy List wishes Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright were in the White House

I would even choose their House of Cards characters, Frank and Claire Underwood, over our current first couple.

The Groovy List is a weekly Top 10 of recommended videos featuring pop culture:

1) Groovy Gal: Dina Merrill
The actress, who died Monday at age 93, was the only child of General Foods heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post (who built Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago in the 1920s) and her second husband, financier E.F. Hutton. Her film credits include Desk Set (1957), Don't Give Up the Ship (1959), Operation Petticoat (1959), The Sundowners (1960), BUtterfield 8 (1960), The Young Savages (1961), The Courtship of Eddie's Father (1963), I'll Take Sweden (1965), The Greatest (1977), A Wedding (1978), Just Tell Me What You Want (1980), Caddyshack II (1988), True Colors (1991) and The Player (1992). She also appeared in the 1984 NBC series, Hot Pursuit, and three Broadway shows - The Mermaids Singing (1945), Angel Street (1975) and On Your Toes (1983). Below you can watch her as the Mystery Guest on What's My Line? (August 7, 1960), as "Calamity Jan" (opposite her second husband, Cliff Robertson) on ABC's Batman (1968), and as a guest on Vicki! (July 13, 1993), with host Vicki Lawrence, Frances Bergen, Ann Blyth and Anne Jeffreys.

2) Groovy Gal: Bette Midler
The Tony-nominated actress, who is currently starring in the Broadway revival of Hello, Dolly!, is interviewed on CBS Sunday Morning (unfortunately, the original complete video is no longer online).

3) Groovy Guy: Kevin Spacey
The actor, whose Netflix series, House of Cards, will release its fifth season on May 30 and who will be hosting the 71st Annual Tony Awards on June 11, is a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Late Night with Seth Meyers and AOL's BUILD Series.

4) Groovy Gal: Robin Wright
The House of Cards actress, whose new film, Wonder Woman, will be released on June 2, is a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Ellen.

5) Groovy Gal: Paula Poundstone
The comedian is a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

6) Groovy Gal: Laurie Metcalf
The Tony-nominated actress, who is currently starring in the Broadway play, A Doll's House, Part 2, is a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

7) Groovy Gal: Laura Benanti
The Tony Award-winning actress (Gypsy) explains the plays and musicals of the 2016-17 Broadway season.

8) Groovy Guy: Armie Hammer
The actor, whose new animated film, Cars 3, will be released on June 16, is a guest (along with Chelsea Handler) on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, and he discusses his on-screen kiss with Leonardo DiCaprio in the 2011 film, J. Edgar.

9) Groovy Guy: Ben Platt
The Tony-nominated actor, who is currently starring in the Broadway musical, Dear Evan Hansen, is a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

10) Groovy Cast: Gina Rodriguez, Jaime Camil, Andrea Navedo, Justin Baldoni, Yael Grobglas and Ivonne Coll of Jane the Virgin
They are interviewed in a SAG-AFTRA Foundation Q&A.

LOVED the Dina Merrill Mystery Guest segment! And she foxed them. Fab dress that not everyone could pull off but she wears with effortless elan. Was saddened to read of her passing, she possessed an innate class that is sadly short supply nowadays.

I second your eloquent (and accurate) emotion about Ms. Merrill, Joel.
