Election Day #1: Off and Running

My first post of Election Day is to let you know that the first election results have been reported from Dixville Notch, New Hampshire (a Republican town of 75):

Obama 15
McCain 6

I guess 21 out of 75 isn't that great, but if the rest of the town are Republicans, I'm glad they decided to stay home this year. They overwhelmingly voted for Bush in 2000 and 2004, Dole in 1996, and Bush in 1988 and 1992. At least Obama's message resonated with some of them--and he's the first Democrat to win there since Hubert Humphrey in 1968. Let's hope this is only the start of something big that spreads like wildfire across the country. And just now the results from Hart's Location, New Hampshire, have come in (it's another small town that voted for Bush in 2000 and 2004 and Dole in 1996):

Obama 17
McCain 10
Paul 2 (write-in)

So far so good.
