Soap Dish: The Top 140 Memorable Moments of All My Children, Part 6

Today I'm sharing the final 20 moments of my tribute to the daytime drama, All My Children, which will return with brand new episodes on Monday - along with One Life to Live (click here to revisit the first 120 memorable moments):

121) Jesse Hubbard Returns from the Dead (February 2008)
So Jesse didn't die from a gunshot wound in 1988 after all. And 20 years later on Valentine's Day he and his true love Angie were reunited at a train station, and he revealed that he had been kidnapped by some bad guys, who faked his death. He then had to pretend to be dead in order to protect his family.

122) Jesse and Angie Hubbard's Third Wedding Day (May 21, 2008)
The couple became husband and wife for a third time at Zach Slater's hotel and casino - and their friend, Greg Nelson, returned to Pine Valley for the ceremony.

123) Tornado 2008! (October 2008)
A series of tornadoes hit Pine Valley and put Kendall in a coma. Meanwhile, her pregnant sister Bianca, who had just returned to Pine Vally from Paris, went into labor, and Kendall's husband, Zach Slater, delivered her daughter. Greenlee then realized that Zach was the baby's father (he had agreed to be a sperm donor without asking Kendall if it was okay). And Dr. David Hayward, who had left town in 2006, returned just after his injured daughter Babe died in JR's arms.

124) Brot Monroe's First Appearance (November 7, 2008)
Brot served in the U.S. Army during the Iraq War with Frankie Hubbard (Jesse and Angie's son), and he was injured in combat, receiving severe burns over much of his body (this storyline was based on the experiences of Brot's portrayer, actor J.R. Martinez). Brot became a member of the Pine Valley Police Department, and in August 2011, he asked Detective Natalia Fowler (Jesse's daughter) to marry him - and she accepted.

125) (The Dazed and) ConFusion Fundraiser (November 26, 2008)
Ryan Lavery's wife Annie murdered her own brother, accidentally killed her best friend, and tried to kill Ryan's ex-wife Greenlee (whom he still loved). She then showed up in a wedding dress at a fundraiser at Kendall's ConFusion nightclub (for Pine Valley's tornado recovery). The delusional woman thought she was marrying Ryan again, and she ended up stabbing Erica Kane, who suffered a lacerated liver. Annie was then arrested, and she was later declared mentally unfit to stand trial and committed to Oak Haven Sanitarium for psychiatric treatment.

126) The Death of Myrtle Fargate (December 19, 2008)
After actress Eileen Herlie died at age 90 on October 8, 2008, her beloved character, Myrtle Fargate (who had lived in Pine Valley since 1976), died peacefully in her sleep. Her friends gathered together to celebrate her life in the newly christened Fargate Carnvial Room at her friend Zach Slater's casino, and Bianca Montgomery serenaded the group with the song, "Once Upon a Time" (which Hurlie sang in the 1962 Broadway musical, All American).

127) Kendall's Heart Transplant (January 2009)
Erica Kane's son, Josh Madden, embezzled millions of dollars from Zach Slater's casino, and he later returned to steal more money. A hostage situation then developed, and Zach ended up shooting Josh, whose heart was a perfect match for his half-sister (and Zach's wife), Kendall (she needed a heart transplant after being in a coma for three months). Erica had to make the painful decision to take her son off life support in order to save her daughter's life, and Dr. David Hayward performed the successful surgery.

128) Bianca Montgomery and Reese Williams' Wedding Day (February 16, 2009)
All My Children made daytime history with Bianca and Reese's Valentine's Day nuptials - the first legal same-sex marriage in American daytime television. However, their happiness didn't last long as Bianca soon learned about Reese’s pre-wedding kiss with her brother-in-law, Zach Slater. A betrayed Bianca decided to end her brief marriage and returned to Paris. They later reconciled, but their marriage ended in divorce in 2011.

129) Who Killed Stuart Chandler? (May 15, 2009)
On a dark and stormy night, almost everyone in Pine Valley had a reason to want Adam Chandler dead - but only one person fatally shot him. However, when JR Chandler went to the morgue to identify his father's body, he was shocked to discover that his uncle Stuart - Adam's twin brother - had been mistakenly killed instead.

130) Annie Novak and Adam Chandler's Wedding Day (November 9, 2009)
In October 2009, Adam was horrified when he finally remembered that he had accidentally shot his beloved brother, Stuart, while disoriented from the drugs David Hayward had been giving him for a heart condition. But his fiancée Annie (who had been released from Oak Haven Sanitarium) persuaded him to not confess by revealing that she was pregnant with his child. So the couple decided to get married immediately, but during the ceremony, he suffered a heart attack and went to Purgatory (where David Hayward played the Devil). When Adam woke up, he said "I do", and Annie was overjoyed to be legally married. She later suffered a miscarriage, and he admitted to killing Stuart - but a jury found him not guilty due to diminished capacity.

131) AMC Celebrates Its 40th Anniversary (January 5, 2010)
Talk show host Hayley Santos (Kelly Ripa) returned to film a documentary about Pine Valley, which had been named "The Best Town in America." The episode featured the final appearance of Palmer Cortlandt (actor James Mitchell died on January 22 at age 89.

132) Greenlee Returns from the Dead on Her Wedding Day (February 12, 2010)
On Bianca and Reese's wedding Day, Greenlee was presumed dead after she drove her motorcycle off a cliff and into a creek to avoid colliding with Kendall's car (her body was never found). However, a year later on Valentine's Day, Dr. David Hayward's mystery bride shocked everyone at their wedding when she lifted her veil and revealed her identity - it was Greenlee! David had saved her life after her accident, and after Greenlee was devastated to learn that her fiancé, Ryan Lavery, had began an affair with Erica Kane so soon after her "death", she decided to move on with her life and asked David to marry her. Ryan insisted that he had never stopped loving Greenlee, but she ended up marrying David at a later date.

133) The Death of Palmer Cortlandt (April 20, 2010)
Palmer, who had moved to Switzerland in 2008, returned to Pine Valley to surprise his ex-wife Opal, but before he had a chance to see her, he suffered a heart attack and died in his hotel room. His ex-wife Daisy (Gillian Spencer) and daughter Nina (Taylor Miller) both attended an informal memorial service at Tad Martin's home, and Palmer's niece Dixie (Cady McClain) welcomed him into Heaven.

134) Adam Chandler and Brooke English's Reunion (April 23, 2010)
Brooke, who had moved to China in 2006, returned in February 2010, and she and her ex-husband, Adam, fell in love again. But Brooke didn't want to break up his marriage to Annie, so she decided to leave town. After Adam discovered Annie's affair with his son JR, he went after Brooke and told her how much he loved her. The couple then decided to start a new life together and left Pine Valley to travel.

135) Who Killed David Hayward? (September 7, 2010)
After David collapsed and died during a party, an autopsy revealed that he was poisoned. His wife Greenlee was soon put on trial for his murder.

136) David Hayward Returns from the Dead (November 22, 2010)
Just as his wife Greenlee was sentenced to life in prison for murdering him, David walked into the courtroom and revealed how he had faked his death in order to frame Ryan Lavery, Greenlee's ex-husband whom she still loved. David later gave Greenlee a divorce, and she remarried Ryan twice in 2011 when their first marriage was revealed to be invalid.

137) Dixie Martin Returns from the Dead (May 17, 2011)
It was revealed that Dr. David Hayward had saved Dixie's life in 2007 with experimental medical procedures that he called "Project Orpheus". He then hid her away for four years until she escaped. Dixie was then reunited with her ex-husband Tad, and they became engaged in September 2011.

138) Erica Kane's "Daughter" Returns (September 21, 2011)
Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar, who originated the role of Kendall Hart in 1993 and later played TV's Buffy the Vampire Slayer, briefly returned to the series as a mental patient who claimed that she was Erica Kane's daughter and that she saw vampires "before they were trendy."

139) Stuart Chandler Returns from the Dead (September 21, 2011)
It was revealed that Stuart was still very much alive due to David Hayward's Project Orpheus, and he was reunited with his brother Adam and his wife Marian.

140) Who Did JR Shoot? (September 23, 2011)
In the "final" episode, Jackson Montgomery ended his relationship with his ex-wife Erica Kane after he realized that she would rather work on a screenplay of her book than remarry him. Meanwhile, Adam Chandler threw a welcome home party for Stuart and asked Brooke to remarry him (she said yes). And a drunken JR Chandler fired a gun at the party guests, but we never found out the identity of his unlucky victim. Hopefully we will on Monday.

And, finally, here is an amusing video of actress Cady McClain (AMC's Dixie) as Suzy F*cking Homemaker, who gives us a handy tutorial on how to watch our favorite "stories" (All My Children and One Life to Live) on Hulu or Hulu Plus.
