Dancing with the Stars: Week 2

So far so good - I correctly predicted last night's first elimination, former NFL player Keyshawn Johnson, whose stiff samba would have put him in 11th place again this week. And the judges gave him another low score of 18, so his time on the dance floor was up.

Now here are my Week 2 rankings of the remaining stars and their dancing partners in order of preference as well as a prediction of who will be going home next week:

1 (Last Week #4) Corbin Bleu & Karina Smirnoff (Score: 26 out of 30 points)
I loved their fun and energetic jive, which was also a cute spoof of his High School Musical films.

2 (LW #1) Amber Riley & Derek Hough (Score: 24)
These two kids came in a very close second with their own fabulous jive - and I was impressed by the former Glee star's unexpected cartwheel.

3 (LW #7) Elizabeth Berkley & Valentin Chmerkovskiy (Score: 25)
The Saved by the Bell/Showgirls star and her sexy, sweaty partner performed a terrific samba.

4 (LW #2) Brant Daugherty & Peta Murgatroyd (Score: 23)
The hottest rumba of the night belonged to this gorgeous couple - and you gotta love a boy who loves his mother (which may help him gain a few votes). Also, FYI, the above pic of Brant and Peta is from Week 1.

5 (LW #8) Leah Remini & Tony Dovolani (Score: 24)
I enjoyed their fun samba - and it was interesting to hear her talk about her former church (of Scientology) wanting her to fail.

6 (LW #9) Bill Engvall & Emma Slater (Score: 21)
He was fun to watch do the jive - and his partner does a great job of making him look good on the dance floor.

7 (LW #10) Christina Milian & Mark Ballas (Score: 25)
The judges liked their smoky paso doble, but it didn't do that much for me. However, the couple can dance well.

8 (LW #5) Valerie Harper & Tristan MacManus (Score: 19)
Their paso doble was a good effort - especially since she has a strained knee. And I think I have a bit of a crush on this handsome Irish lad, whose accent makes me weak in my own knees.

9 (LW #6) Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi & Sasha Farber (Score: 20)
I wasn't impressed with their rumba - but the former Jersey Shore star did make me laugh with her "I did the face" comment.

10 (LW #3) Jack Osbourne & Cheryl Burke (Score: 24)
Their rumba didn't do much for me either - but the judges obviously liked it.

11 (LW #12) Bill Nye & Tyne Stecklein (Score: 17)
And once again at the bottom is The Science Guy, whose stiff-legged paso doble was the worst performance of the evening. But he does have his fans as a video of his cha-cha-cha from last week has received over 3 million hits on YouTube.

Who Should Be Eliminated Next Week: Bill Nye

Who Will Be Eliminated Next Week: Bill Engvall (it's the battle of the Bills, but I think Mr. Nye probably has a few more loyal fans than Mr. Engvall).

I love Valerie and I'm throwing all my votes her way but I wish her leg wasn't giving her problems--on top of everything else ("I'm 74 and I have terminal cancer...")--because she appears to have trouble moving and I get visions of Cloris Leachman. Who lasted a good long time on the show out of love of fans. I think Valerie is absolutely amazing and a true inspiration. I just don't want to see her not having fun.

I agree with you, Kevin, she should continue only if she's having fun - and not in too much pain from her leg. Go, Valerie!!!
