Web Series Worth Watching: Jon Robert Hall in Destroy the Alpha Gammas

Web Series of the Week: Destroy the Alpha Gammas
This new musical web series set in the world of sororities won me over with its talented, tuneful cast and amusing Mean Girls-inspired bitchiness. I just can't resist a cute boy singing Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel" to the girl he likes on a basketball court. And when he's played by Jon Robert Hall - a handsome actor who is one of the Warblers on TV's Glee - I couldn't help but become a fan.

The story of DAG is centered around Carrie (played by creator Leah McKendrick), the newly appointed president of the not-so-popular Delti Pi sorority who catches her boyfriend Scott cheating with Autumn, the bitchy president of the popular Alpha Gammas. Carrie then convinces her sisters to declare war on the AG's - and croon a few tunes along the way by Adele, Marvin Gaye, CeeLo Green and others. This simple premise lends itself well to the web series format, and so far McKendrick and her director/co-producer Scott Brown have nicely balanced DAG's mixture of music, comedy and drama. They have also assembled a great cast that includes (in addition to McKendrick and Hall) Anastacia McPherson, Christie Burson, Jeff D'Agostino and Karma Stewart - and The Waltons' Judy Norton will soon be making a guest appearance as the regional sorority board president. So I recommend that you check out DAG, and I look forward to watching the Delta Pi's destroy the Alpha Gammas!

Below are the first four episodes for your viewing pleasure. For more information on DAG, visit or subscribe to its YouTube channel. You can also become a fan of the series on Facebook and Twitter.

In the season finale of Margaret Cho's web series, Tito arrives, forcing Tawny, Concha and Fahronda to resort to drastic measures. You can catch up on the first season at Margaret Cho's YouTube channel.
