Top 10 Tuesday of Groovy Music #6

Each week I feature 10 groovy albums that have appeared on the Billboard 200 (aka Top LPs) chart during the last 50+ years. You can vote for your three favorites, and the five with the most votes move on to the following week when five new albums will be added to the list.

Last week we had a tie at the top with Fleetwood Mac's Rumours and the Grease soundtrack each receiving 22 votes out of the 163 cast. And this week they will be challenged by Frank Sinatra, Stevie Nicks and Madonna.

1) Rumours/Fleetwood Mac (Last Week #4, W6) - #1 the week of October 22, 1977

1) Grease soundtrack (LW #2, W5) - #1 the week of October 28, 1978

3) Carpenters/Carpenters (LW #1, W3) - #7 the week of October 23, 1971

4) Guilty/Barbra Streisand (W2) - #1 the week of October 25, 1980

5) Private Dancer/Tina Turner (LW #3, W4) - #3 the week of October 27, 1984

6) Songs for Swingin' Lovers!/Frank Sinatra (DEBUT) - #7 the week of October 27, 1956

7) Bella Donna/Stevie Nicks (DEBUT) - #5 the week of October 24, 1981

8) Born in the U.S.A./Bruce Springsteen (DEBUT) - #2 the week of October 27, 1984

9) Madonna/Madonna (DEBUT) - #8 the week on October 27, 1984

10) Dirty Dancing soundtrack (DEBUT) - #4 the week of October 24, 1987

Another challenging week of choices! Except for Madonna and to a lesser degree the Dirty Dancing soundtrack I could have easily voted for any of the picks. I went for overall quality of songs and chose Fleetwood Mac, The Boss and of course my soft spot The Carpenters. As always a fun contest.

Thanks for voting and sharing your selections, Joel!

Well, this week I had to vote for Barbra, Grease... and (as Joel says) "my soft spot" that is always reserved for Karen & Richard! Have a groovy week, Marc!

You have a groovy week, too, Lance, and thanks for voting!

This confirms why I quit voting in national elections. I know I'm not what the rest of the country looks on as having any kind of relevancy. I never felt like my vote counted for anything.

But Fleetwood Mac, really?

To each their own, BrianB. Obviously many people still like Fleetwood Mac - but it's perfectly fine if you don't care for them. Vote for any of the other nine albums - but if you don't vote, your opinion most certainly will not count for anything.
