Battle of the Network Stars #12: 1983-84 TV Season

Battle of the Network Stars debuted 37 years ago today on November 13, 1976, pitting television stars from ABC, CBS and NBC against each other in various sporting events. So I thought it would be fun to revive this competition by featuring the stars of a different TV season every week.

CBS won the 11th Battle, and the following stars will be moving on to Round 2:

Aneta Corsaut (The Andy Griffith Show/CBS)
Max Baer, Jr. (The Beverly Hillbillies/CBS)
Buddy Ebsen (The Beverly Hillbillies/CBS)
Nancy Kulp (The Beverly Hillbillies/CBS)
Irene Ryan (The Beverly Hillbillies/CBS)
Mary Tyler Moore (The Dick Van Dyke Show/CBS)
Dick Van Dyke (The Dick Van Dyke Show/CBS)
Lucille Ball (The Lucy Show/CBS)
Gale Gordon (The Lucy Show/CBS)
Vivian Vance (The Lucy Show/CBS)
Ray Walston (My Favorite Martian/CBS)
Richard Chamberlain (Dr. Kildare/NBC)
James Franciscus (Mr. Novak/NBC)
Johnny Carson (The Tonight Show/NBC)
Patty Duke (The Patty Duke Show/ABC)
David Janssen (The Fugitive/ABC)

Now on to our 12th battle, which takes us back to the 1983-84 TV season when we welcomed the following 32 stars into our homes:

Talk about being on the horns of a dilemma!

How can I pick between Kate Jackson & Susan St. James with their dueling scratchy voices or Jane Curtin & Julia Duffy and their odd but endearing quirkiness Aaargh!

However the choice between Madeline Kahn & Priscilla Presley was a snap. Nothing against Priscilla a very beautiful woman once upon a time but Madeline would trump just about anyone.

Thanks for voting, Joel! It was difficult to put Madeline up against anybody since she is so beloved. So poor Priscilla is the unlucky one in this round.
