In honor of David Letterman's final Late Show on May 20 - and to celebrate his 33 years as the longest-serving late night talk show host in TV history - I thought it would be fun to feature a series of Top Ten Lists of some of his most memorable moments. Click here to see previous Top Ten Lists - and now let's look back at 1985 (in chronological order):

1) On January 26, 1985, Dave celebrates three years of Late Night with a 90-minute Saturday night special featuring live coverage of the birth of an "anniversary baby" at a local hospital.

2) Dave wears the Suit of Sponges when he is dipped into 25 gallons of water on February 14, 1985.

3) On February 27, 1985, it's the "Morning Show" special with Dave, his co-host Tawny Harper Reynolds and guest Carol Channing.

4) During Late Night's first-ever week in Los Angeles, Johnny Carson drops by on May 16, 1985.

5) Valerie Bertinelli is Dave's guest on June 27, 1985, and her husband, Eddie Van Halen, plays guitar with Paul and the band all night.

6) Teri Garr is Dave's guest on September 9, 1985.

7) Dr. Ruth Westheimer is Dave's guest on September 11, 1985, and he takes the entire audience to the commissary for dinner (in the second video).

8) Julia Child makes an omelet and George Burns makes a surprise walk-on on October 17, 1985.

9) On November 20, 1985, it's the Too Tired to Do a Show broadcast from Dave's office, and he persuades guest Teri Garr to take a shower in his office bathroom.

10) Dave wears the Suit of Chips and is dunked in a vat of onion dip on November 21, 1985.
