Remembering Yvonne Craig 1937 - 2015

Actress Yvonne Craig, who died Monday at age 78, was best known for her role as Batgirl (aka librarian Barbara Gordon) in the third and final season (1967-68) of the ABC series, Batman. Her film credits include Gidget (1959), By Love Possessed (1961), Ski Party (1965), One Spy Too Many (1966), One of Our Spies Is Missing (1966), In Like Flint (1967) and How to Frame a Figg (1971). And she appeared opposite Elvis Presley (whom she briefly dated) in It Happened at the World's Fair (1963) and Kissin' Cousins (1964).

Below I've selected a few videos to celebrate the life and career of Ms. Craig.

It's very sad to hear and kind of shocking at first. As with Donna Douglas, Mary Ann Mobley and now Miss Craig when their major claim to fame comes when the person is young they just always seems so in memory so it delivers a jolt when they pass and you realize they were either approaching 80 or are passed it. She was a most engaging presence.

Oh my heavens I just saw that Melody Patterson, Wrangler Jane from F Troop died earlier this week! Relatively young too, only 66. What is going on? So many of the ladies from 60's television all going at once. So very sad.
