The Groovy List #6 starring Mary Richards and J.R. Ewing

The Groovy List is a weekly Top 10 of recommended videos featuring pop culture and gorgeous guys:

1) Groovy TV Flashback #1: "The Last Show" of The Mary Tyler Moore Show
Mary Richards bid an emotional farewell to the WJM newsroom 39 years ago on March 19, 1977.

2) Groovy Talk Show: The Late Late Show with James Corden
To celebrate his show's first anniversary, Mr. Corden shoots an entire episode at a stranger's house, featuring an engaged gay couple and guests Colin Farrell, Wanda Sykes and Demi Lovato.

3) Groovy Movie Star: Shirley MacLaine
It's always a pleasure to see this Academy Award-winning actress, who receives a strong cocktail during her recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

4) Groovy Birthday Guy: Stephen Sondheim
To celebrate the Tony Award-winning composer's upcoming 86th birthday on March 22, below you can watch him and the original Broadway cast of Follies (including Alexis Smith and Yvonne De Carlo) on The David Frost Show on June 23, 1971. I've also included a March 1977 interview on Previn and the Pittsburgh: The World of Stephen Sondheim, an episode of André Previn's PBS series that features performances by the London (and later Broadway) cast of Side by Side by Sondheim - Millicent Martin, Julia McKenzie and David Kernan.

5) Groovy Couple: Diane Lane and Paul Rudd
On The Late Late Show with James Corden, the host asks his guests to recreate a classic scene from the film, Titanic.

6) Groovy Music: "Son of a Preacher Man" by Tom Goss
The singer/songwriter tells a moving story of young gay love in his music video cover of Dusty Springfield's 1968 hit. You can follow Tom on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

7) Groovy Birthday Girl: Sutton Foster
To celebrate her 41st birthday today (March 18), below you can watch the Tony Award-winning actress in four episodes of's Show People with Paul Wontorek from January 2011, June 2011, September 2013 and April 2015.

8) Groovy TV Flashback #2: "Who Shot J.R.?" on Dallas
In the primetime soap's third season finale on March 21, 1980, J.R. Ewing was shot twice by an unseen assailant, setting up a mystery that would not be solved for eight months. And 30 years later in November 2010, CBS News anchor Katie Couric interviewed actor Larry Hagman about the memorable cliffhanger.

9) Groovy Off-Broadway Guy: Steven Pasquale
The actor, who is currently starring Off-Broadway in The Robber Bridegroom and in FX's American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson (as Mark Fuhrman), is interviewed on Show People with Paul Wontorek. Click here for tickets to The Robber Bridegroom.

10) Groovy Movie Trailer: Sausage Party
I'm not a big fan of animated movies, but this extremely dark Red Band Trailer made me laugh. Sausage Party, the first R-rated CG animated movie, features the vocal talents of co-writer Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, Bill Hader, Michael Cera, James Franco, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Paul Rudd, Nick Kroll, David Krumholtz, Edward Norton and Salma Hayek, and it will be released on August 12, 2016.
