The Groovy List celebrates Kirk Douglas's 100th birthday

To celebrate Mr. Douglas's 100th birthday today, below you can watch him as the Mystery Guest on What's My Line (December 30, 11953) and as a guest on The Dick Cavett Show (June 29, 1971) and Late Night with David Letterman (September 15, 1986).

2) Groovy Actress: Margaret Whitton
Ms. Whitton, who died on November 30 at age 67, starred in four television series - Hometown (1985 CBS dramedy), A Fine Romance (1989 ABC comedy-drama), Good & Evil (1991 ABC sitcom ) and Cutters (1993 CBS sitcom). Her feature film credits include The Best of Times (1986), 9½ Weeks (1986), The Secret of My Success (1987), Ironweed (1987), Major League (1989), The Man Without a Face (1993) and Major League II (1994). Below you can watch her in The Secret of My Success (with Michael J. Fox) and Good & Evil (as Teri Garr's sister).

3) Groovy Actress: Alice Drummond
Ms. Drummond, who died on November 30 at age 88, received a 1970 Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play for The Chinese and Dr. Fish. She also appeared on the daytime soap operas, Dark Shadows (1967) and Where the Heart Is (1971-73), and in three CBS sitcoms - Park Place (1981), Lenny (1990-91) and Frannie's Turn (1992). Her feature film credits include The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982), Ghostbusters (1984) as the librarian, Awakenings (1990), Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1992), Jeffrey (1995), To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar (1995), In & Out (1997) and Doubt (2008).

4) Groovy Gal: Jennifer Hudson in Hairspray Live!
I enjoyed NBC's live musical adaptation - especially Ms. Hudson's wonderful performance as Motormouth Maybelle (I also look forward to next December's Bye Bye Birdie with Jennifer Lopez).

5) Groovy Gal: Madonna
She joins The Late Late Show's James Corden for some Carpool Karaoke.

6) Groovy Guy: Ryan Gosling
The actor, whose new film, La La Land, opens today (with a wide release on December 16), is a guest on Ellen and Jimmy Kimmel Live!

7) Groovy Guy: Jake Gyllenhaal
The actor promotes his new film, Nocturnal Animals, on Conan.

8) Groovy Guy: Milo Ventimiglia
The actor, who is currently starring in NBC's This Is Us, is a guest on Ellen.

9) Groovy Guy: Nick Adams
The hunky actor joins The Skivvies at Joe's Pub to perform a medley about an elf in Santa's workshop.

10) Groovy Comedy Sketch: "The Hunt for Hil"
The Saturday Night Live sketch features two investigators (Beck Bennett, Kyle Mooney) searching for Hillary Clinton (Kate McKinnon) in the woods of Chappaqua.
