The Groovy List is a weekly roundup of groovy gay pop culture:

1) Groovy Guy: John Glines
The playwright and theater producer, who died Wednesday at age 84, won a 1983 Tony Award as a producer of Harvey Fierstein's play, Torch Song Trilogy. He also produced the 1985 Broadway production of William M. Glines also worked as a writer for seven years on Captain Kangaroo and for four years on Sesame Street. And he was a founding trustee of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, which grew out of Stamp Out AIDS, the non-profit organization he founded in 1985.

Glines is survived by his husband, Chaowarat Chiewvej. Below you can watch his Tony Awards acceptance speech, in which he became the first person to ever acknowledge a same-sex partner on a major awards show.
