Remembering Ken Berry 1933 - 2018

Last night a Facebook friend said "I will personally mourn the loss of the very talented, charming performer, Ken Berry, far more than a certain former President...but condolences to both families."

I second that emotion.

Below I've selected some videos to celebrate the life and career of the actor, dancer and singer, who died Saturday at age 85.

In January 1965, Berry and his wife, actress Jackie Joseph, helped celebrate the launch of KCET (Channel 28) in Los Angeles (they were married from 1960 to 1976).

Berry starred in the 1965-67 ABC sitcom, F Troop.

On November 27, 1965, Berry and his F Troop co-stars Forrest Tucker and Larry Storch appeared on the ABC variety show, The Hollywood Palace, with host Janet Leigh.

Berry appeared on the CBS sitcom, The Lucy Show, on February 19, 1968.

He played widowed farmer Sam Jones in the 1968-71 CBS sitcom, Mayberry R.F.D.

He starred in his own summer replacement variety show, The Ken Berry 'Wow' Show, which aired for five episodes in July-August 1972 with regulars Steve Martin, Teri Garr and Cheryl Stoppelmoor (Cheryl Ladd).

On September 27, 1972, Berry was a guest on ABC's The Julie Andrews Hour.

On December 12, 1972, Berry starred in the CBS special, Once Upon a Mattress, with Carol Burnett, Jack Gilford, Bernadette Peters and Wally Cox.

Berry starred opposite Connie Stevens in the ABC movie, Every Man Needs One, on December 13, 1972.

On March 28, 1973, Berry was a guest on Mitzi Gaynor's CBS special, Mitzi... The First Time.

On January 4, 1974, Berry starred in The Brady Bunch episode, "Kelly's Kids", which served as an ABC pilot for a planned series that was never produced.

Berry starred in two Disney films - Herbie Rides Again (1974) with Stefanie Powers and Helen Hayes and The Cat from Outer Space (1978) with Sandy Duncan and McLean Stevenson.

Berry was a commercial spokesman for Kinney Shoes from the mid-1970s to the early '80s.

On November 4, 1977, Berry was a guest on ABC's Donny & Marie.

Berry was a frequent guest star on The Carol Burnett Show (the musical number below is from March 12, 1978).

Berry played Eunice's brother Phillip in the CBS special, Eunice, which aired on March 15, 1982.

Berry played Vinton Harper in the 1983-84 NBC sitcom, Mama's Family, and the 1986-90 syndicated version.

In July 1987, Berry starred in My One and Only at Sacramento's summer stock theatre, Music Circus, and he was interviewed on Nola Joy Carello's Catch A Star cable access series.

On November 10, 1992, Berry was part of a Mama's Family reunion on Vicki Lawrence's syndicated talk show, Vicki!
